SPINNERS PITCHER JORDAN CRAFT
NAMED NYPL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Craft had 0.00 ERA over 11 innings from Aug. 27-Sept. 2
Lowell, MA – The Lowell Spinners, Class A Affiliates of the
Boston Red Sox, announced today that Spinners starting pitcher Jordan Craft was
named New York Penn-League Pitcher of the Week for the week beginning Monday,
August 27.
Craft, a right-hander in Lowell’s rotation, went 1-0 without allowing an earned
run in 11 innings over two starts last week. He allowed only five hits and one
walk while striking out eight.
Craft is 7-3 with a 3.43 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 60.1 innings over 14 games and
nine starts with the Spinners this season. His seven wins lead the team and tie
the Spinners record for wins in a season, last reached in 2005. Craft also
recorded a win with the Spinners last season, giving him eight career wins in a
Spinners uniform, two short of the franchise mark.
Along with leading the Spinners in wins, Craft’s 60 strikeouts rank second on the team.
Spinners
centerfielder Ryan Kalish was selected as Player of the Week for the week
beginning July 9, but Craft is the first Spinners pitcher to be recognized since
2004.
