SPINNERS ANNOUNCE UPCOMING FAN MILESTONES
Two-millionth fan on Saturday and 300th consecutive sellout on Sunday
Lowell, MA – The Lowell Spinners, Class A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, announced today that they expect two fan milestones to be met this weekend, with the two-millionth Spinners fan expected to enter LeLacheur Park on Saturday, August 18 and the 300th consecutive LeLacheur Park sell-out anticipated for Sunday, August 19.
The two-millionth fan will receive a unique prize package featuring the monetary value of two million Ecuadorian Sucre, in 80 Spinner Dollars.
The Spinners have sold out every home game to a standing-room only crowd of 5,000 fans (5,030 since mid-2006) dating back to August 2, 1999. That’s over eight seasons of sell-outs.
“Reaching our two-millionth fan is a testament to our fanbase,” said Spinners General Manager and Vice President, Tim Bawmann. “As a short-season team with only 38 home dates and a ballpark that maxes out at close to 5,000 fans, to reach two million in only our 12th season is an incredible achievement.”
The two-millionth fan will also receive a ceremonial first pitch and a half-inning in the Lowell Spinners radio broadcast booth at the Saturday’s game, a bat autographed by the entire team, a special two-millionth fan replica jersey, and a webpage on lowellspinners.com celebrating the winner.
