LAWRENCE LITTLE LEAGUE SEASON BEGINS WITH NEW

EQUIPMENT THANKS TO LOWELL SPINNERS AND GOOD SPORTS

League to Present Spinners Organization Award during Opening Day Ceremonies

LOWELL, MA – The Lowell Spinners, the Class-A Affiliate of the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, will help Lawrence Central Little League celebrate the start of the 2008 season with a kickoff party and new equipment as part of the Spinners partnership with Good Sports at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4.

With over 400 boys and girls participating in both baseball and softball, the Lawrence Central Little League made an ideal recipient for the Second Annual Lowell Spinners / Good Sports $10,000 equipment grant. Members of the Spinners front office will be joined by representatives from Good Sports and the lovable Canaligator for the opening day festivities. As part of the ceremonies, Lawrence Central Little League will be presenting the Spinners organization with a community service award.

“The gift of baseball is something everyone should be able to experience and through this partnership with Good Sports, we are able to provide a chance to become involved in our community,” said Lowell Spinners Vice President/General Manager Tim Bawmann. “We are thrilled for the opportunity to see the benefits the grant will provide to the kids of Lawrence.”

“We are thrilled to partner again with the Lowell Spinners on this grant program. The community is lucky to have an organization like the Spinners that has a dedicated philosophy of giving back to the region. We are thrilled to work with them to give these kids the opportunity to engage in sports and fitness activities and all of its associated benefits” said Christy Pugh, Chief Operating Officer at Good Sports.
