LOWELL SPINNERS “SPREAD THE LOVE” ON VALENTINE’S DAY
Caravan to create and distribute Valentines at three locations today
LOWELL, Massachusetts – The Lowell Spinners, Class A Affiliate of the 2007 World Champion Boston Red Sox, are continuing their Valentine’s Day tradition with the third “Spread the Love” Valentine’s Day Caravan throughout the community.
The caravan is scheduled to visit the JFK Elementary School in Billerica this morning where Spinners staff and special guests will make Valentines cards with the students.
Then the caravan will arrive at Heritage Manor, a nursing home in Lowell, where members of the caravan will visit with residents and deliver the Valentines cards made at the elementary school.
The caravan consists of Spinners staff and local celebrities, including Red Sox coach Dick Berardino, UMass Lowell hockey players, and Canaligator and Devil Dog, the mascots for the Spinners and Lowell Devils.
Afterwards, select Spinners staff members and the Canaligator will visit with patients at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital.
“The Spinners always enjoy being a part of Valentine’s Day because it’s one of the days that bring our families and friends together each year,” said Lowell Spinners Vice President and General Manager, Tim Bawmann. “We’re looking forward to making this Valentine’s Day a memorable one for the children, the residents and the patients we are able to visit.”
