When it comes to charity who is going to win - Boston or Colorado?
Boston Vs. Colorado square off on a fundraiser for World Series Tickets
DENVER & BOSTON – October 26, 2007 – One brother is the Vice President/General Manager of the Lowell Spinners, the Class A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. The other brother runs a marketing agency in Denver.
Working within the Red Sox organization, Tim Bawmann knows Red Sox fans will beat Rockies fans when it comes to charity. Brad Bawmann disagrees.
Now the table is set to see which brother is correct. Fans of each team can log on to eBay and enter item number 120176449717 to bid on a pair of World Series tickets to Game Six at Fenway Park on Wednesday, October 31. The proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver and Lowell’s Joann Weber Foundation.
There is much more to the prize than just World Series tickets. The highest bidder will also receive a night’s stay at the Hyatt Regency Boston and two airline tickets to the game courtesy of Southwest Airlines.
The bidding is open to baseball fans across the nation. If the winning donor is from the Boston-area, Southwest Airlines will issue two roundtrip tickets to anywhere it flies in the Continental United States to be redeemed before the 2008 World Series.
“My brother is wicked crazy if he thinks Rockies fans can beat the Red Sox fans, but I’ll humor him. Raising money for charity is much better than watching him cry in his beer,” Tim Bawmann said.
“Tim already has a World Series ring. It’s our turn to bring home the prize,” said Rockies-fan Brad Bawmann of Denver. “While I wish I was there watching Matt Holliday crush a Curt Schilling fastball over the Green Monster, raising money for these great charities is an honor and a privilege.”
A special thank you to the Boston Red Sox, Southwest Airlines, Hyatt Regency Boston and A Executive Limo Service.
Brad Bawmann and his team are dedicated volunteers for Denver’s Ronald McDonald House. The Joann Weber Foundation is a Community Foundation supported by the Lowell Spinners that gives back to many worthwhile organizations and events in the Merrimack Valley.
